Stay Congruent With Your Mission

When it comes to making things work in business we just learn what it takes to get things done and we get to work. Simple. When it comes to ministry generally we try to keep the two separate. Why? I can only imagine that the focus of profiting in business offers too much opportunity for distraction from the mission of ministry.

Now the thing that gets me is ministries need finances but are sometimes unwilling to do what it takes to get the funds they need. I can understand the different fundraising opportunities that come their direction that have nothing to do with their mission. That I get.

Here’s something I think most fundraisers don’t understand. Ministry is different from most other non profit groups. Most non profit groups have a cause they promote that in most cases a particular product offering might fit in well with what their cause is.In the case of ministries, their focus for the most part is seeing people ultimately come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior. So promoting a product offering often doesn’t fit because it has nothing to do with leading somebody to Jesus. Do keep in mind I’m being pretty general here.

I said to myself one day, “if there was ever a product I could offer that helped churches and ministries stay focused on their mission of seeing souls saved, I would promote it.” As I’ve looked around, it’s been hard coming up with one.

We’ve looked at health care products, grocery programs, prepaid legal services, insurance, and even the all in one deals that offer everything under the sun. They are all good programs but they lean so heavily on their offering and business opportunity that in my opinion, they just become distractions to the mission of the church or ministry.

Something we discovered completely by divine providence was a company that offered website packages. Now website packages are nothing new. This company’s offering they way it was presented would be no different than the other offerings to help raise funds. The difference was the ability to customize the way we used the websites.

Here’s where things got extremely exciting, especially for the skeptics of business in the church. We took what congregants were already doing and brought it onto the internet.

Here’s what we discovered: They all loved Jesus, They all had testimonies to share and They all understood the meaning of discipleship. All we did was help them put their testimonies online and help then help others to do the same thing.

The component they found it hard to believe was the church and it’s members being compensated just for helping people get their own website packages and helping them put their testimonies on their own websites.

Finally, something that didn’t take the focus off of the primary purpose of the ministry. Sharing testimonies on websites and helping others do the same has never been so exhilarating. Getting compensated isn’t bad either.

Eagles Wings Mentoring – Mary Smith

Here’s a short glimpse what these folks are doing on the internet with .WS websites.

Entrepreneurs Winning Souls in All Languages

Winning Souls is not easy for the the majority of believers but doing the work of an evangelist is the assignment of every believer. How much we know or don’t know isn’t the big deal, it is every believers responsibility. The story of any Bible believer is worth hearing by anybody is is willing to listen.

The planet is getting easier to reach and getting the Word out has become pretty simple via online connections. Soul Winning again, is not easy but is something that should be taken seriously by every believer. Since the beginning of the worldwide web, people all over the globe are taking advantage of it to publicize their message about anything and everything they care about. They have capitalized on using the worldwide web to saturate their message in the minds of those they want to purchase their products and services.

Major companies, independent business owners, online marketers and the like have taken advantage of getting the knowledge it takes to maximize using the worldwide web for profit. Even non profit causes are spreading the word about their campaigns. There are a few ministers which have figured out to to promote their organizations and the Gospel.

The question comes up every now and then about how can we motivate individuals to share the Gospel. It is not much of a problem for people to participate in a “church wide” campaign. When it comes to presenting the Gospel on a personal level, many believers have a challenge coming up with the right things to say.

The one thing that makes things somewhat difficult about winning souls is the language barriers. Even in the United States, people have challenges communicating with each other. What is so special is the internet is bring the world together on the language level to communicate via online language translators. This is definitely making winning souls easier.

One company that is doing its part to help with winning souls is Global Domains International. They have come up with Internationalized Domain Names. This project makes it where anybody in the most populated countries in the world can use the internet in their own language. Through Worldsite.WS a person can now type in their browser in their native language to access the internet. All they have to do is add .WS at the end of the entry.

What an exciting time for the church to take advantage of this special opportunity. The Worldsite.WS is the sole international domain registry in the world offering .WS websites in most languages of the world. This will be an especially good opportunity for believers all over the world to use their testimonies in the Winning Souls Campaign. WinningSouls.WS is the site where believers, churches, and non profit organizations can obtain their own .WS website to keep the process of winning souls fresh and relevant among all people groups.

Christian Entrepreneurs and Internet Ministry

It’s time to address the internet ministry debate. For years we’ve been hearing “you can only ride one horse at a time”, “you can only drive one car at a time”, “you can’t chase two rabbits at the same time”… You know the deal. I was one to believe it for a long time. But I still wonder why so many people continue to desire to do internet ministry. I can only imagine they like the idea of having more options should things change with one ministry assignment.

The people I’ve studied in the high income ranks are people like Donald Trump, Oprah Winfrey, Robert Kiyosaki, Martha Stewart, Warren Buffett, Magic Johnson and a host of business owners in various areas of business. All of these folks have multiple streams of income. Oh, they may not have started that way but somehow they have ended up doing very good in a variety of areas. Personally I don’t think it was completely by accident. Imagine any of these people not taking advantage of the opportunities that have come their way in their business lifetime. None of them would probably be the moguls we know them to be today.

Why is it okay to have multiple businesses and not internet ministries? The website world has brought a degree of participation in international ministry to more ministers than we can imagine. We are definitely in a different age. The internet has changed the game so much that the average person can do what once was set up for the super successful.

Does this seem to go along with our lifestyle? I’m talking about normal everyday people like you and me. The same people who have been dreaming of doing ministry for years Can we really work traditional ministries at the same time? I am of the opinion that any of the above mentioned moguls can do it, so can we. Especially with God on our side. If we put our minds to anything, we can do it. All it takes is desire and a well executed plan. On top of that, because our assignments are for the Kingdom of God, we will have a greater impact.

Begin to look at your life and see where you’ve come so far. Today the internet is and will be a component of most people’s lives no matter what. No matter what our station is in life today, somehow the internet is connected to at least the leadership we’re connected with.

Stay in the game,
